It is said that when your luck is bad, even the person sitting on a camel gets bitten by a dog. Meaning that person has to face all kinds of problems in bad times, something similar is happening with Prithvi Shaw also. This right-handed batsman was first out of IPL, no team placed bets on him and now Prithvi Shaw is proving to be a huge flop in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy also. Prithvi Shaw could not even open his account in the match against Services on Tuesday. Shaw was bowled on the third ball itself. His wicket was taken by Poonam Punia.
Prithvi Shaw has not batted in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he has not been able to score even a half-century in the last 5 matches. He could not open his account in the first match against Maharashtra. He could score only 23 runs against Kerala. His bat could score only 33 runs against Goa. Even against a weak team like Nagaland, he scored only 40 runs. This player could not even open an account against Services. It is clear that Prithvi Shaw's form is very bad and if he does not improve soon, it is possible that he may be out of Mumbai's playing eleven. Prithvi Shaw was also recently dropped from the Ranji Trophy team. He was out of the team citing his poor fitness.
Well, even though Prithvi Shaw's bat did not work, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dubey together beat the services bowlers badly. Both of them made a quick partnership of 130 runs for the fourth wicket. Suryakumar Yadav scored 70 runs in 46 balls and Shivam Dubey played an unbeaten inning of 71 runs in just 36 balls. Dubey hit 7 sixes in his innings and 4 sixes came off Surya's bat. On the basis of this strong batting, Mumbai team managed to score 192 runs in 20 overs. This was the first match of both Surya and Shivam Dubey in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
