There was a dispute going on between India and Pakistan Cricket Board regarding Champions Trophy 2025 for quite some time, but now its solution has been found. Actually, this tournament is to be hosted by Pakistan, but BCCI had refused to send its team to Pakistan. Since then ICC was engaged in talks between the two boards. Finally, it has been decided when and where the Champions Trophy 2025 will be played.

According to PTI report, a consensus has been reached in the ICC to organize next year's Champions Trophy in a hybrid model, due to which India will play its matches in Dubai. According to a top ICC source, the decision was more or less finalized during an informal meeting in Dubai between new ICC chairman Jay Shah and the board of directors, including Pakistan. "All parties have agreed that the 2025 Champions Trophy will be held in UAE and Pakistan while India will play its matches in Dubai," an ICC source told PTI. This is a win-win situation for all stakeholders.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board had put forward some conditions before the ICC in exchange for the hybrid model. ICC has accepted one of these conditions. Actually, hybrid model will be used in ICC tournaments till 2027. During this period, India will jointly host the Women's ODI World Cup in October next year and the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup jointly with Sri Lanka. Even if the hybrid model was not implemented, Pakistan would not have been forced to travel to India in 2026. Let us tell you, Pakistan had demanded such an arrangement for itself till 2031, but the ICC had decided to extend the tour to India for all its competitions till 2027. Hybrid model has been agreed upon.

ICC source said, 'Pakistan will play its matches in Sri Lanka during the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup. The compensation demanded by the PCB due to the Champions Trophy being organized in the hybrid model is still being considered. In such a situation, now ICC would like to finalize the schedule as soon as possible, so that the schedule can be announced.
