He added, 'We wanted to make sure that Hughes' family, in particular, was comfortable with any commemoration and that we appropriately celebrate Philip's life and incredible achievements.'

Hughes died after being hit by a ball in 2014

Hughes played 26 tests for Australia. During a first class match in 2014, he was hit by a bouncer from Sean Abbott which proved fatal. He died on 27 November 2014 at the age of 25.
