Indian batsman Prithvi Shaw has been in the headlines since the beginning of his career. At one time he was compared with legendary batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar-Sehwag. He had earned a lot of name and money from his sport at a young age. But his game has declined significantly in the last few years. Now the situation has become such that Prithvi Shaw's card has been cut from IPL also. He did not find any buyer in the recently held IPL mega auction. Amidst all this, Prithvi Shaw's former coach has given a big statement on him.
There was a time when Prithvi Shaw was considered the future of Team India. But he could not handle the wealth and fame he got in a very short time and today he is completely away from the cricket field. Former Delhi Capitals coach Praveen Amre believes that Prithvi Shaw's condition has become like that of former cricketer Vinod Kambli. Praveen Amre said, 'When Prithvi was a part of Delhi Capitals, I explained a lot to him giving the example of Vinod Kambli. I have seen Kambli going through bad times very closely. By the age of 25, Prithvi had earned around Rs 40-50 crore. Even an IIM graduate cannot earn this much money at this age.
Praveen Amre further said, 'When you earn a lot of money and fame at a very young age, you get lost in its glow. It is very important that a young player uses money wisely, makes good friends and gives priority to cricket in his life. It was this indiscipline that harmed Prithvi's career. The hunger to make a comeback and perform well is missing. It is very disappointing to see that a talent like his is going in the opposite direction.
The career of left-handed player Vinod Kambli, who made headlines at a young age, went up as fast as it went down. Kambli's career was ruined due to alcohol addiction and subsequent indiscipline. It is believed that he was lost in the glamor of cricket. Gradually the brilliance in his batting started decreasing. There came a time when he had to be dropped from the team.
