There was a meeting of ICC with 15 member boards on 5 December, but this time too no decision could be taken on the Champions Trophy. After this, the meeting was postponed from December 5 to December 7, that is, today is the date when the complete picture on the Champions Trophy will be clear. It is believed that ICC has reached the final conclusion regarding Champions Trophy 2025 and now only the announcement is left.

Champions Trophy 2025 will be played on hybrid model

A consensus has been reached in the ICC to organize next year's Champions Trophy in a hybrid model, due to which India will play its matches in Dubai. According to reports, the decision was more or less finalized during an informal meeting between ICC's new chairman Jay Shah and the board of directors, including Pakistan, in Dubai. However, Pakistan has agreed to the hybrid model on one condition.

Actually, hybrid model will be used in ICC tournaments till 2027. During this period, India will jointly host the Women's ODI World Cup in October next year and the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup jointly with Sri Lanka. Pakistan had demanded such a system for itself till 2031, but the ICC has agreed to the hybrid model for all its competitions till 2027.

Where will Team India's matches be played?

ICC has decided to schedule all the matches of the Indian team including the final in UAE. All the group stage matches of the Indian team will be played in Dubai. At the same time, one semi-final match will also be against Pakistan and if Team India reaches the final then the final match will also be held in Dubai. According to the draft schedule, the tournament is to start from February 19 and the final is scheduled for March 9. But in the draft schedule, all the matches of Team India were kept in Lahore, which is now certain to change. Due to this controversy, there is a continuous delay in the announcement of the schedule.
