Rangpur Riders have become the champions of the Global Super League. This time the first season of the league was played, and they won the title. Rangpur Riders captured the title by defeating Victoria in the final match played on 6 December. By the way, before the result of the GSL final, an interesting incident happened, due to which Rangpur Riders were about to refuse to play the final. Meaning, clouds of suspense were seen looming over his final playing. But, when that suspense ended, Ranbankure of Rangpur entered the final arena, then he became the champion.
Before telling the status of the final match, just know why Rangpur Riders were thinking of withdrawing from playing the final? Rangpur Riders is the T20 team of Bangladesh playing in the Global Super League. Before the final, Bangladesh Cricket Board asked them to release three players – Soumya Sarkar, Afif Hosein and Rishad Hosein. These three players are part of the ODI series against West Indies starting from December 8. Due to this decision of BCB, there was a cloud of suspense over Rangpur Riders playing the final.
T20 teams from different countries participated in the Global Super League. According to the rules of the league, it was mandatory for every team to field 7 local players from their country in the playing eleven. Now if Rangpur Riders had released 3 players then their playing eleven would not have been formed. Just for this reason he decided to withdraw from playing the final. But, if this had happened, Bangladesh would have been in trouble because Rangpur Riders were representing the entire country in the league. As a result, BCB changed its decision and Rangpur Riders played the final.
Congratulations to the first ever Global Super League Champions, the Rangpur Riders
