Australia's first innings in the Adelaide Test was reduced to 337 runs. Jasprit Bumrah had a big contribution in wrapping up Australia's first innings, who took 4 wickets. With these 4 wickets, Bumrah has taken a total of 12 wickets in the ongoing Test series against Australia. Earlier, Bumrah had taken 5 wickets in the first innings of Perth Test. Whereas in the second inning he took 3 wickets. But, Bumrah's work was not complete as he took 12 wickets in the first 3 innings of the Test series against Australia. Because for that they still need 15 more wickets. These are those 15 wickets which will make Bumrah the sixth Indian bowler to take 200 wickets in Tests.
Before the Adelaide Test, Bumrah had 181 wickets in his name. Now, after Bumrah took 4 wickets for 61 runs in the first innings of the Pink Ball Test being played in Adelaide, his total number of wickets in the Test has increased to 185. That means he is 15 steps away from the magical figure of 200 Test wickets. The good thing is that Bumrah has every chance to take these 15 wickets in Australia.
Bumrah still has to bowl 7 more innings in the Test series being played between India and Australia. The form Bumrah is in and the way he has been bowling in the first 3 innings of the Test series. The way he took 5 wickets once and a total of 12 wickets, it is clear from the way that it is not a big deal for him to take 15 wickets in the next 7 innings.
If Bumrah continues to take wickets, he will not only be in trouble for Australia but will also become the sixth Indian pacer to take 200 wickets in Tests. Kapil Dev is the fast bowler who has taken the highest number of 434 Test wickets from India. After him, Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma have taken 311-311 wickets. Mohammed Shami is the last bowler to join the club of 200 Test wickets. But, after taking 15 more wickets, Bumrah will also join that list.
