The first season of the Big Cricket League, filled with legendary cricketers from all over the world, has started in a grand style. Exciting cricket was seen in the very first match of the league, in which a lot of fours and sixes were hit. In the match held in Surat, Northern Chargers batted strongly and defeated Southern Spartans by 6 wickets. In this match, two former legends of Indian cricket played explosive innings while captaining their respective teams. Spartans captain Suresh Raina scored a quick 49 runs but Chargers captain Shikhar Dhawan's inning of 86 runs ruined his hard work.

In the first match of the league on Thursday 12 December, Southern Spartans batted first. This team, captained by Raina, scored a big score of 203 runs after losing 4 wickets in its 20 overs. Captain Raina himself scored the most runs for the team. His batting was as amazing as before and Raina scored 49 runs in just 27 balls. During this he hit 7 fours and 1 six. However, unfortunately he was run out. Apart from them, Solomon Mir scored 47 runs (28 balls), Aman Khan scored unbeaten 29 runs (9 balls) and Abhimanyu Mithun scored unbeaten 27 runs (12 balls).

Northern Chargers needed a fast start to chase such a big target and who could be better than captain Shikhar Dhawan for that.

The left-handed star batsman, who retired from international cricket a few months ago, again showed his magic. The left-handed batsman, popularly known as 'Gabbar', thrashed the Spartans bowlers and hit 8 brilliant sixes. Dhawan scored 86 runs in just 43 balls at a strike rate of 200, which also included 4 fours.

Dhawan could not complete his century but his innings had laid the foundation of victory for the team. After this, Gurkeerat Singh Mann scored 31 runs in 14 balls and then Bipul Sharma also scored unbeaten 33 runs in 19 balls and gave the team a strong victory by 6 wickets in 18.4 overs.

The second match of the tournament will be played between Rajasthan Regals and Southern Spartans on Friday, December 13, while the third match will also be played between UP Brij Stars and Mumbai Marines on Friday.
