'PCB got lollipop on Champions Trophy'... Pakistani legend made fun of his own country

Finally, after a long wait, the way for Champions Trophy 2025 has been cleared. According to reports, Team India's matches will not be held in Pakistan but in Dubai. Let us tell you that BCCI had demanded to conduct the Champions Trophy on hybrid model. In return, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had also said that during the T-20 World Cup to be held in India in 2026, Pakistan's matches should also be played on hybrid model.

This condition of PCB has also been accepted but still some former Pakistani players are not able to accept it. One such former cricketer Basit Ali has now made fun of his own cricket board.

Basit Ali expressed his displeasure

Basit Ali said on his YouTube channel, 'Now it is being said that the Women's World Cup will be given to Pakistan in 2027 or 2028. Everyone will say, wow! That's awesome, not one but two ICC events! But what do such events mean? This is being done so that the Pakistan team comes to India in 2026 and then the Indian women's team comes to Pakistan.

There will be no loss to broadcasters.

ICC is giving lollipop to PCB

Basit further said, 'Do you know that this is a lollipop? This is a lollipop that ICC is giving to PCB that if you agree to this, do not ask for anything in writing and we will give you another ICC event. This (Pakistan) will not get any benefit. They should instead bid for the Asia Cup, which is next year. PCB should ask for this. PCB will not get any benefit by hosting Women's World Cup or Under-19 World Cup.

If PCB accepts this lollipop, it will suffer loss.

Pakistani team will not come to India for 2026 T-20 World Cup

After India's refusal to go to Pakistan, Pakistan also refused to come to India for the next ICC event. However, after several weeks of ongoing discussions and efforts at reconciliation, the situation has now almost resolved. During the 2026 T20 World Cup, Pakistan's matches will be held in Colombo, in which Team India will also visit Pakistan for the league matches. However, the situation regarding the knock out matches is not clear yet. Apart from this, PCB had also demanded compensation in return for adopting the hybrid model.

However ICC has not accepted this demand.
