India spinner Ravichandran has bid adieu to international cricket after the third Test against Australia in Brisbane. He was not a part of the playing XI and decided that his time with the national team was over.

To pay tribute to him for his contributions, Australia’s off-spinner Nathan Lyon gave him a signed jersey. Pat Cummins also congratulated the legendary bowler, who has taken over 500 wickets in his Test career.

Overall, he took 765 wickets from 379 innings in international cricket.

From the bat, he scored six hundreds and 14 fifties in the longest format of the game.

“Respect for Aswhin. Just the way he conducted himslef on and off then field for a long period of time and his skil is magnificent. We have had different opions and I enjoyed my conversations with him,” Nathan Lyon said on Fox Sports.

“We chatted this morning, and hopefully, we will have more in the future,” he added.

Ashwin played in all three Tests against New Zealand but failed to impress. There were reports of him getting dropped from the team if his performance was not up to the mark in Australia, and before the selectors could decide his future, the player took a decision himself.

The ace spinner will represent Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League 2025.
