Team India has proved everyone's claims wrong so far in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and has kept the series tied at 1-1. Three test matches of this series have been completed but the host Australian team has not been able to take the lead. The biggest reason for this is Team India's star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who has taken on Australia almost single-handedly. Bumrah has taken the most wickets in this series so far and now he can change his old record in the fourth Test match to be held in Melbourne. This record is more than 80 wickets in a year, which Bumrah is very close to.

Boxing Day Test match will start from 26th December at Melbourne Cricket Ground. This match will play a big role in deciding the course of the Test series. Team India, which came on this tour after facing the embarrassment of being whitewashed by New Zealand at home, has so far performed better than expected and its hero has been Bumrah. It was on the basis of Bumrah's lethal bowling that Team India shocked Australia by taking the lead in the very first match of the series. Since then, Australia has made a good comeback but right now the series is tied.

Records can change in Melbourne

The biggest reason for Team India's performance so far is Jasprit Bumrah, who has almost single-handedly taken up the responsibility of Indian bowling.

Bumrah has so far taken the maximum of 21 wickets in this series, which includes 5 wickets in the innings twice. Now Team India will need similar performance from Bumrah in Melbourne also. Bumrah himself would like to repeat his brilliant performance because he has a chance to do something which he has not done till date.

If Bumrah takes at least 3 wickets in the Melbourne Test, then for the first time he will take 80 international wickets in a year.

Bumrah has a total of 77 wickets in his name in 32 innings of all three formats this year. Earlier in 2018, he had taken 78 wickets in 39 innings, which is his best performance till date. Bumrah has taken 62 wickets in 24 innings so far in Tests this year, while he has taken 15 wickets in 8 T20 innings.

Bumrah's performance in MCG is also excellent

The kind of form Bumrah is in at the moment, this will not be a big deal for him. Anyway, his record in Melbourne field is also excellent. He has played only 2 Tests here, in which he has taken 15 wickets at an excellent average of 13 in 4 innings.

Playing here for the first time in 2018, Bumrah took 6 wickets in the first innings itself. He took 9 wickets in his name in that match.
