Australia had announced its squad for the last two Tests against India on 20 December. After the announcement of this squad, young opener Nathan McSweeney got a big shock. The 9th match of the current season of the Big Bash League between Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat was played at the Gabba Stadium in Brisbane. Batting first in the match, Adelaide Strikers scored 174 runs losing 6 wickets. Brisbane Heat achieved the target of 175 runs on the last ball with the help of McSweeney's brilliant fifty. Nathan's bat, which flopped in the Test series against India, roared fiercely in BBL. He played brilliantly and scored 78 runs in 49 balls. 10 fours and 2 sixes came from his bat.

19 year old Sam Constas replaced McSweeney

Nathan McSweeney has been replaced by 19 year old Sam Constas. It is expected that Constas can debut in international cricket through the fourth Test to be played in Melbourne.
