Left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav made an incredible return from his injury against the Lucknow Super Giants. With impressive figures of 3/20, the Delhi Capitals spinner tore through the LSG batting order, restricting the side to 167/7. DC eventually chased down the target in 18.1 overs, securing a much-needed second win of the season.

After his outstanding performance, Kuldeep was awarded the Player of the Match award. During the post-match presentation ceremony, the spinner made an amusing comment when questioned about his DRS dynamics with DC captain Rishabh Pant.

Kuldeep approached Pant during a previous game for the DRS against the Rajasthan Royals and made a DRS gesture against Jos Buttler. The spinner’s action paid off, as DC dismissed Buttler early in the game. When asked how they decide on reviews, Kuldeep joked that he has one DRS call per match reserved just for him.

“If it’s a 50-50 call, I’ll usually go for it myself. But if the odds seem more like 60-40, I’ll refer to Rishabh’s judgment. When we have two reviews available, I will make sure to reserve one for myself in case I need it later,” said Kuldeep.

The spinner remains one of the key players in the Delhi Capitals team, and his absence hurt the side in recent losses to Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians. Against KKR, Delhi endured a crushing defeat, giving up 272/7 runs – the second-highest total in IPL history.

The Capitals were greatly relieved by their victory over the Lucknow Super Giants. The six-wicket win lifted DC from last place in the standings, bringing their record to two wins in six matches this season. Lucknow, meanwhile, slipped to fourth place but remain tied on points with KKR, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Rishabh Pant and co will face Gujarat Titans on April 17
