Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 26th match of IPL 2024 at their home ground on Friday. DC dominated in all three departments and eventually won the match by six wickets.

LSG, who opted to bat first after winning the toss, looked clueless against DC’s bowling attack. However, the decent knocks of KL Rahul (39 off 22) and Ayush Badoni (55 off 35) catapulted LSG’s total to 167 for 7.

DC, in response, demonstrated their skill and strategy from the start, with opener Prithvi Shaw hitting 32 runs in 22 balls. Meanwhile, debutant Jake Fraser-McGurk (55 off 35) and Rishabh Pant (41 off 24) took the game away from the home team. The Delhi side reached the finish line in 18.1 overs.

Pant, who is looking in great touch after making a comeback in DC, also played a blistering innings in Lucknow. His knock included some impressive shots that left the spectators in awe. Notably, his most memorable shot came against Marcus Stoiniswhen the DC skipper played an exceptional reverse scoop against the Australian medium pacer.

Stoinis started the 12th over of DC’s chase strong with three tight deliveries. But on the fourth ball, the unexpected happened. Pant, with quick reflexes, held his position until the last moment, then switched his grip and contorted for a stunning reverse scoop, sending the ball flying for a boundary. This audacious Pant special, a shot, fans had been craving, sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Kuldeep Yadav conquers Ekana

Kuldeep Yadavthe wizardry spin bowler of DC, brought the batting lineup of LSG on their toes. Kuldeep clinched three crucial wickets, including  Rahul, with his mystery bowling and finished with the figures of 4-0-20-3. Kuldeep played a vital role in pulling off a victory for his team and was declared the Player of the Match as well.
