Indian batting sensation Smriti Mandhana has cemented her place among the world's elite by claiming the second spot in both the ICC ODI and T20I batting rankings, released Tuesday.

Her stellar performances against the West Indies propelled her upward.

Mandhana's rise in the rankings is backed by a series of outstanding innings. In the recent T20I series against Hayley Matthews' West Indies side, she scored 62 off 41 balls and followed it up with 77 off just 47 deliveries, completing a hat-trick of half-centuries in the format.

She carried this momentum into the ODIs, registering a commanding 91 off 102 balls in the opening match in Vadodara. With these performances, the 28-year-old has now achieved five consecutive scores of 50 or more in international cricket.

Mandhana's ODI rating of 739 places her behind South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt (773), while her T20I rating of 753 trails Australia's Beth Mooney (757). Captain Pat Cummins also highlighted Mandhana's importance to India's lineup, emphasizing her ability to shift pressure onto opposition bowlers from the first delivery.

Other Key Movements in Rankings

West Indies captain Hayley Matthews also made significant strides, climbing two spots to equal third in the T20I rankings with 748 points. Matthews impressed with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 85 in one of the T20Is.

Meanwhile, India's Harmanpreet Kaur re-entered the top 10 of the ODI rankings with a steady knock of 34 in Vadodara. Australia's Annabel Sutherland enjoyed a remarkable 11-spot jump to 18th in the ODI rankings after a standout unbeaten 105 against New Zealand.

In the bowling department, India's Renuka Singh moved up six spots to 20th in the ODI rankings, courtesy of her 5/29 in the first match against the West Indies.
