The Indian cricket team is in a situation where you can see the difference in the composition of teams across formats. A few years ago, if a player had an India cap, he would definitely get an IPL contract.
However, times have changed now. The requirements of the T20 format have changed and are difficult for some Test specialists to adapt to. In such a situation, we will tell you about those three players who were not sold in the mega auction of IPL 2025 but now they are part of the Test team.
1. Abhimanyu Easwaran
Abhimanyu Easwaran has been successful in making his place at the first place in this list. West Bengal batsmen have been performing well at the domestic level for quite some time now. He has neither got a chance in the playing eleven of the Indian team nor a contract in IPL. Even in the current BGT, he is a part of the team but it is very unlikely that he will get a chance. India are likely to stick with players like Shubhman Gill.
2. Sarfaraz Khan
Sarfaraz Khan is one of the players not sold in the mega auction of IPL 2025 but is now in the Test team. He left his mark in the IPL a few years ago but since then his IPL career has gone downhill. Last season they did not have any team and the situation is same for the next season also.
According to many analysts, Sarfaraz will have to work on his fast game to get a chance in IPL. Talking about batsman Sarfaraz's IPL career, he has played 6 matches and scored 371 runs at an average of 37.1. During this period, one century and 3 half-centuries have been seen from his bat.
3. Tanush Kotian
Tanush Kotian played for Rajasthan Royals last year. However, surprisingly he did not find any buyer in the recent mega auction. Having him in the team as an off-spinning all-rounder would have been a good option. Still he has got a place in the Indian team. He will replace Ravichandran Ashwin in the BGT team.
