Team India's batsman Nitish Kumar Reddy scored a century in the fourth match of Border Gavaskar Trophy being played at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The entire stadium danced on this brilliant century. Nitish's century also brought Team India back into the match. This is Nitish's first century in international cricket. However, while on one hand Nitish Reddy scored a century, on the other hand Nitish Reddy was out after scoring only 5 runs. Actually, here we are talking about another Hyderabad batsman Nitish Reddy. His full name is Patkuri Nitish Reddy. He is currently playing for Hyderabad team in Vijay Hazare Trophy, but he flopped badly in the match against Puducherry.
In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the teams of Puducherry and Hyderabad were face to face at the Gujarat College Ground in Ahmedabad. Nitish Reddy's bat remained silent in the match. Coming to the opening for Hyderabad, he went on cheaply. Nitish faced only four balls and was out after being caught by Santosh Ratnaparkhe on five runs. He was hunted by Raja Vijaji.
Apart from Patkuri Nitish Reddy, star player Tilak Verma also flopped.
Tilak, who scored two back-to-back centuries for Team India against South Africa in T-20 this year, could not do wonders in the match against Puducherry. Only 6 runs came from his bat in 7 balls. Earlier in the same tournament, Tilak Verma had also been out on 0 twice.Even though Tilak and Nitish did not bat, the Hyderabad team registered a spectacular victory. Puducherry team batted first but its condition was very bad. Even after playing 31.5 overs, Puducherry team could not score 100 runs and collapsed for only 98 runs.
Santosh Ratnaparkhe scored the maximum 26 runs for him. Chama Milind took maximum 5 wickets and Tanay Thiagarajan took three wickets. In reply, Hyderabad achieved the target by losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Kodimela Himateja made the maximum contribution of 42 unbeaten runs. Gaurav Yadav and Fabid Ahmed achieved two successes each for Puducherry. Santosh Ratnaparkhe scored the maximum 26 runs for him.
