Recently, 18 year old Indian chess player D Gukesh became the world champion. Whereas now 37 year old Hampi Koneru has created history. Female chess player has won the World Rapid Chess title. The special thing is that Hampi has captured this title for the second time. India's Hampi Koneru has won this title by defeating Indonesia's Irene Sukandar.

India's Hampi Koneru has captured this title for the second time. For the first time, Hampi won the World Rapid Chess Championship in Georgia in 2019. Now after five years he has repeated history again. Hampi is receiving congratulations and best wishes from across the country on his historic victory. After D Gukesh, the whole country is now feeling proud of the achievement of Hampi also. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also congratulated him for becoming world champion.

Had this match been a draw, Hampi's five-year dream would have been shattered. She needed a win and she won brilliantly by defeating her opponent Irin Sukandar. The Indian Grandmaster ended the championship with 8.5 points out of 11. Humpy Koneru expressed happiness after winning the World Rapid title for the second time. He said, 'I am very happy and excited because this is my second world rapid title. I won in 2019 also. The 37-year-old player further said, 'In my career, whenever I am at a low level and think that I am losing, some miracle happens and I come back. This inspires me to keep fighting further.

Volodar Murzin created history in men's category

While India's Hampi Koneru made her mark in the women's category of the World Rapid Chess Championship, Volodar Murzin created history in the men's category. Volodor of Russia became the World Rapid Chess Champion at the age of just 18. He is the second youngest player to win this title after Nodirbek Abdusatorov. At the age of 17, Nodirbek became FIDE World Rapid Champion.
