Australia defeated India by 184 runs in the fourth Test to go 2-1 ahead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The Boxing Day Test saw Jasprit Bumrah picking up nine wickets while Pat Cummins amassing 6 scalps and two important innings with the bat. Bumrah has taken 30 wickets in four Tests at an average of less than 13.

The speedster has claimed 3 five-fers so far and will have another chance to extend his tally in the fifth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

On the other hand, Pat Cummins has taken his wicket tally to 20 in four red-ball matches. He has played a few important innings with the bat apart from leading the side. Former Australia player Justin Langer hailed the two and kept them in the league of the West Indies legends.

“They are like Malcolm Marshall and Joel Garner. Pat Cummins and Jasprit Bumrah have been magnificent for their teams and haven’t let batters score runs against them. For me, they are the best in the business at the moment and I don’t see them slowing down,” he said on Star Sports.

Bumrah was named the Player of the Match in the series opener at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Pat was adjudged the best player of the game in the Boxing Day Test.
