Mitchell Marsh was injured during the Perth Test, due to which Webster was included in the team as a back-up. However, Marsh's injury was not very serious. And, despite the failure in the Perth Test, the management's confidence in him remained intact. So he kept playing. But, after Perth, when he did not score runs in Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne, now the Australian team management has decided to debut Beau Webster in his place.

Why did Beau Webster get a chance to debut?

Mitchell Marsh has scored 73 runs with the bat at an average of 10.42 in 7 innings of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
