Clarke agreed- Khawaja should retire

Former Australian captain Michael Clarke believes that the time has come that Usman should retire from Tests.

He said on the Beyond 23 podcast, 'He has been an amazing player, an absolutely amazing player. He is 38 years old, I think this could be a great opportunity for UG (Usman Khawaja) to announce his retirement, and Sydney will be his last Test.

New players should get a chance

On one hand, Clarke said that Khwaja should retire. He was also seen saying that Khawaja will continue playing. Clarke further said, 'I know he would like to continue playing. His form in this entire series has not been as good as he would have liked.

I also think it could be a great opportunity for a new player to come in, open the batting, get some Test match cricket before the first Ashes Test match.

Khawaja has been a flop in the series

Usman Khawaja's form in this series has been similar to that of legends like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Khawaja has also not been able to score big runs in the entire series.
