During the Melbourne Test, ICC had fined Indian team's veteran player Virat Kohli. To give Sam Constas a shoulder push, 20 percent of his match fee was deducted. Now a similar threat is looming over the team's most lethal and successful bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Although Bumrah had an argument with Constas, the reason behind the fine on him is something else. In fact, he had raised questions on the umpiring itself for giving out Washington Sundar during the Indian innings.

What does the rule say?

According to ICC rules, umpires have been given some rights to take action. If they feel that a player has committed such an act which cannot be tolerated, then they can take action. Under this, level 1, level 2, level 3 and level 4 defects come. The questions raised by Bumrah come under Level 1 crime.

Let us tell you that if the players express their disagreement with the umpire's decision by saying something or through any action, then they are considered guilty. Bumrah had also said after the third umpire's decision to give out to Washington Sundar that 'in the last game he had not given out on snickers and now he is giving it out. However, now it remains to be seen how the umpires view their disagreement and whether they impose a penalty or not.

Umpiring has been against India

Actually, when Team India was in difficult times in the first innings, the team was in dire need of Washington Sundar but Sundar became the victim of a controversial decision. Sundar was caught by wicketkeeper Alex Carey on the ball of Australian captain Pat Cummins. After this, when the on field umpire gave not out, Australia used DRS. When the matter reached the TV umpire, movement was visible on the snico meter but the movement was disappearing as soon as the frame changed.

This means that despite there being no conclusive evidence, the third umpire changed the decision of the on-field umpire and gave him out. Generally this is not done. Before this, there was an uproar on the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal during India's second innings in the Melbourne Test. In his case the decision was changed despite there being no movement on the Snico meter. Whereas in the Perth Test, KL Rahul was the victim of a controversial decision by the third umpire.
