Delhi: On Saturday, in the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024), Rajasthan Royals (RR) achieved a spectacular victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Batting first, Punjab scored only 147 runs and Rajasthan team managed to win by losing seven wickets in 20 overs with one ball remaining. Former Australian player Tom Moody believes that the Royals have secured the first position in the points table with the three-wicket win, but the decline in their batting order was clearly visible during the match.
58-year-old Tom Moody said on ESPN Cricinfo's show, “Punjab Kings vs Rajasthan Royals was a match in which there were many failures and surprising decisions. Both the teams had to face these problems. It was a poor quality match, but it had a good ending, but it wasn't an exciting match to watch. This was not an easy game. “The approach and batting order of the Royals while chasing the target of 148 runs was shocking.”
Whereas, batting first in the match, Punjab Kings was successful in scoring 147 runs at the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. The top scorer was impact player Ashutosh Sharma, who scored 31 runs on 16 balls. Rajasthan had to struggle for the easy target of 148 runs. Young Tanush Kotian opened the innings with star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. After the dismissal of Kotian (24 off 31 balls) and Jaiswal (39 off 28 balls), captain Sanju Samson scored 18 runs off 14 balls. Ryan Parag (23 off 18 balls), Dhruv Jurel (6 off 11 balls), Rovman Powell (11 off 5 balls) and Keshav Maharaj (1 off 2 balls) also made important contributions for their team.

But in the last overs, Shimron Hetmyer's explosive innings gave Rajasthan Royals victory by three wickets. Hetmyer (27* runs on 10 balls) gave a thrilling victory to the Royals by hitting a six on the fifth ball of the last over. The last over was bowled by fast bowler Arshdeep Singh.
Rajasthan Royals are in search of their second IPL title
It is noteworthy that Rajasthan Royals are currently in search of their second IPL title. He won his first title in the year 2008.
