In the evening fixture, CSK clashed with MI at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Chennai Super Kings defeated the Mumbai Indians by 20 runs. CSK was put into the bat first by the home team. The Men in Yellow posted a competitive total of 206 runs on the board, thanks to 69 runs knocked by skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and a match-winning cameo by MS Dhoni.
