Australia Women are gearing up to face England Women in a one-off pink-ball Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which will mark the conclusion of the 2025 Women’s Ashes. The hosts are in dominant form, having already swept their rivals in both the ODI and T20I series. Ahead of the game, Australia captain Alyssa Healy confirmed that she is fit and “ready to go.”

Healy expressed her gratitude for the support from the medical staff, saying, “They’ve been really supportive in giving me the opportunity to push for a spot in this Test match.

We’ve done everything possible to get me into a position where I can confidently say, ‘I’m ready to go.’”

She thanked the healthcare team for providing her with immense support throughout her recovery.

She continued, “I’m good to go. We’ll finalize the XI over the next few days, but I feel ready, so we’ll see what happens. The final lineup hasn’t been confirmed yet, but here I am, standing in front of you without a moon boot, saying I’m ready to play,” Healy shared in the pre-match press conference, as quoted by India Today.

Healy had missed the T20I series due to a right foot injury, spending the previous week in a moon boot because of a stress reaction.

For this Test, she will play as a pure batter, with Beth Mooney taking over the wicketkeeping duties.

All-rounder Ashleigh Gardner has also been cleared to play in the multi-day game after recovering from a calf injury that kept her out of the T20I series. However, right-arm medium pacer Megan Schutt will not feature in this iconic match. Australia will continue to rely on the bowling partnership of Kim Garth and Darcie Brown.
