ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Squads: The ninth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy is set to get underway on Feb. 19. The multi-lateral tournament is returning after a long hiatus of eight years.

A total of eight teams will compete at the mega event.

Reigning champions and host nation, Pakistan will take on New Zealand in the inaugural match at the National Stadium in Karachi. India, who have refused to travel to the neighbouring country due to security concerns, will play all of their matches in the UAE. The rest of the tournament will be held in Pakistan. If India qualifies for the final, it will also be shifted to the UAE.

The eight participating teams in the ICC Champions Trophy have been divided into two groups. Alongside India and Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand remain in Group A while Group B features Australia, England, South Africa and Afghanistan.

Each side is slated to play three league games and the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for March 4 and 5. The tournament will be wrapped up with a big-ticket final on March 9.

India and Pakistan emerged as the finalists in the last edition of the Champions Trophy, hosted in England and Wales in 2017. Pakistan, led by Sarfaraz Ahmed, won the summit clash by 180 runs to secure the title.

India have won the Champions Trophy twice in 2002 (joint-winners with Sri Lanka) and 2013. The Men in Blue now aim to replicate the feat under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
