Delhi: England set a target of 305 runs in front of India in the second ODI being played at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. The English team won the toss and batted first and was all out by scoring 304 runs in 49.5 overs. Joe Root played 69 and Ben Docket played important innings of 65 runs. Ravindra Jadeja took the most 3 wickets for India.

India chased the target and scored 48 runs in 6.1 overs without any loss. Captain Rohit Sharma (29) and Shubman Gill (17) descended to open.

However, the game was stopped due to the closure of floodlights in the seventh over, after which both batsmen returned out of the field. At that time Saqib Mahmud was bowling for England. However, the match turned on again after some fear.
