Jyoti Yaraji, 25, is also known as India's 'Hurdle Queen'. This star player recently captured his second gold medal in the 38th National Games. He won the 200 meter race in the final with a time of 23.35 seconds. Whereas before this, Jyoti won gold by setting records with 13.10 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles. Even before this, Jyoti and many records have been broken by her game. Despite this, this star player and its family are facing financial crisis. Jyoti wants him and his family lead a better life. His father earns only 7 thousand rupees a month. Jyoti, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, has requested her state government for financial help.

I want to give that life to parents… '

Jyoti was born on 28 August 1999 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Jyoti has narrated her sad story after creating panic in the National Games. She has said that she wants to give a better life to her parents. He told in an interview to Maykhel that his mother does not even know what athletics is. She has never gone outside Vizag (Visakhapatnam). Jyoti said that I want to give my parents the life she deserves and for this I need support (financial help from the government).

The government's neglect and expressed regret on the lower prize money

Jyoti won the silver medal in the women's 200 meter race at the Asian Athletics Championship in 2023. Even then, the Andhra Pradesh government gave him very low amount than the medal winners of other state. Jyoti has also expressed disappointment on this. Questioning inequality, he said that I was given 20 lakh rupees. Whereas for the silver medal, 3 crore rupees are given to the players of other states. Why is there no similarity? Jyoti further said, 'My parents have sacrificed a lot, but we have to struggle for living till now'.

Father security guard, earn only 7 thousand

Jyoti is not financially capable. Their parents are also not educated and neither do they have any major source of earning. The woman's father works as a security guard. Which leads to their house. With this, they get only 7 thousand rupees a month. It is very difficult for a family to live in such less money. Jyoti wants to change her and family's life with her game, but in the meantime she is also expected to help the government. Now it has to be seen whether the voice of Jyoti reaches the government or not and if it reaches, then what decision the government of Andhra Pradesh takes on it.
