Mumbai Indians bowlers didn’t allow the Delhi Capitals batters to score freely in the middle overs of their first match in the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025. However, the Capitals managed to seal a win in the end. Mumbai were ordinary with the bat and managed just 164 runs in 19.1 overs. They failed to defend their total as DC sealed a two-wicket win on the last ball of the match. Their victory will give them confidence.
Nat Sciver-Brunt scored 80 runs off 50 balls, laced with 13 fours.
MI captain Harmanpreet Kaur accumulated 42 runs off 22 balls. For Delhi, Annabel Sutherland (3 wickets) and Shikha Pandey (2 wickets) bowled well.Shafali Verma was aggressive from the start in Delhi’s chase, posting 43 runs off 18 deliveries. Sarah Bryce (21) and Niki Prasad (35) were magnificent with the bat. Hayley Matthews (2 wickets) and Amelia Kerr (2 wickets) delivered good performances for the 2023 WPL champions.
