Impressing former India player Virender Sehwag is difficult, as he judges cricketers differently. Travis Head, the Sunrisers Hyderabad opener, entered Viru’s good books after slamming the fourth fastest hundred in the history of the Indian Premier League.

Playing against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2024, Head completed his century in 39 balls. He didn’t spare any bowler and went hard at the rivals. He hit 9 fours and 8 sixes and played an important role in Hyderabad’s record total of 287/7 in 20 overs.

Sehwag lauded the southpaw for his knock. “I haven’t seen this type of innings before. Even I batted aggressively but never completed a hundred in 39 balls. I took 50 balls. David Miller, Chris Gayle, and Yusuf Pathan are ahead of Travis, which shows the destruction the Aussie batter caused against RCB.

‘My head is still spinning. All the overs were slog overs, and the Sunrisers never stopped. Their run rate touched 16 in the last phase of the game. We have seen that teams slow down when the spinners are introduced in the middle over, but it was not the chase with SRH. They became more dominating after the first phase of the match,’ Virender Sehwag said.
