Lucknow: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener Sunil Narine batted brilliantly against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Eden Gardens and scored a century. This is the first century of his T20 career and with this he has joined the list of players who have scored a century in IPL for KKR. With this he has made a big record in his name, which includes the name of former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma.
In this match against Kolkata, Rajasthan won the toss and decided to bowl first and after this Sunil Narine came as the opening batsman for KKR. In this match, he played an excellent innings and took his team to a good score. Narine scored 109 runs facing 56 balls in this match. During this period, 13 fours and 6 sixes came from his bat. He was clean bowled by RR fast bowler Trent Boult with a brilliant yorker to end his innings.

Narine has played a total of 503 T-20 matches in his career so far, in which this is his first century. Sunil is in great form this season. In the 6 matches played so far, he has scored 276 runs at an excellent average of 46.00 and strike rate of 187.76. During this period, one century and one half-century have come from his bat. He is the third player for Kolkata to score a century in IPL. Former batsman Brendon McCullum was the first to score a century in the year 2008. Apart from him, in the year 2023, Venkatesh Iyer played a century against Mumbai Indians.
Sunil Narine joins Rohit Sharma's club
After scoring a century against RR, Narine has joined Rohit's special club. Actually, Rohit is the only player in IPL who has scored a century with a hat-trick. Apart from him, Shane Watson had also achieved the feat and now Narine has become the third player in IPL history to do so.
