IPL 2024: Under Faf du Plessis, Royal Challengers Bangalore's IPL 2024 campaign is in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Bangalore's bowlers need a radical change in mindset to win against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite having renowned players and an elite coaching staff, Bangalore managed to win only one out of six matches. Bangalore team is at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table.
Bangalore's bowlers have shown a lack of adaptability and innovation in this season of IPL. The bowlers of the Bangalore team have failed to take wickets. Bangalore's bowlers relied heavily on predictable variations like knuckle balls and slow bouncers, giving the opposition batsmen a chance to dominate. In the recent match against Mumbai Indians, despite posting a challenging score of 196 runs, Bangalore had to accept defeat in just 15.3 overs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad's strong batting has a challenge ahead of them. Henrik Klaasen and Abhishek Sharma are the top scorers for Hyderabad and are in terrific form. Both have been consistently batting aggressively against the opposition bowlers in the powerplay and middle overs.
Pat Cummins has been outstanding and is the top wicket taker for his team with six wickets. The addition of left-arm fast bowler T Natarajan has further strengthened SRH's bowling unit. RCB's batting line-up led by Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis has performed promisingly, but key players like Glenn Maxwell have disappointed.
The two teams have met 23 times in the IPL so far and SRH have won 12. RCB have won 10 times, while one match ended in a draw. The two teams met only once last season and RCB won by losing just two wickets while chasing a target of 187 runs.
Chinnaswamy's pitching has changed in character this season, with a slightly double-edged nature. After IPL 2021, the average first innings score has come down from 190.8 to 180. This change has created a new challenge for the batsmen in the ongoing IPL matches.
