Shikhar Dhawan shared an emotional post on social media for his son Zoraver during his stint with the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The veteran batter posted photos of himself wearing a jersey with his son’s name on the back. After recovering from an injury, Dhawan wrote a touching caption for the images: “You’re always with me, my boy.”
In October 2012, Shikhar Dhawan married Ayesha Mukherjee, but their marriage ended after 8 years when a Delhi court granted Dhawan a divorce, citing cruelty by his estranged wife. Despite their split, the now 38-year-old Dhawan continues to share social media posts with his son.
Last December, Dhawan posted a heartfelt birthday message for his son, recalling their time together before Dhawan’s strained relationship with Ayesha separated them.
Dhawan is injured and missed PBKS’ last match against the Rajasthan Royals. Sanjay Bangar, the team’s head of cricket development, revealed that the veteran opener will miss 7 to 10 days of action due to a shoulder injury, ruling him out for the clash against MI. With Dhawan absent, Sam Curran led the 2014 runners-up.
