New Delhi: Rohit Sharma danced with Shikhar Dhawan ahead of Mumbai Indians’ away game against Punjab Kings at the PCA stadium in Mullanpur on Thursday, the video of which went viral on social media. While Rohit is playing his 250th game for Mumbai Indians, captain Dhawan isn’t a part of the Punjab Kings playing XI due to a shoulder injury. This is the second consecutive match Dhawan is missing in IPL 2024.

Notably, Rohit became only the second player in the history of IPL after MS Dhoni to play 250 IPL games for a single franchise. In the video, Rohit and Dhawan, who had opened the batting for India earlier in their career, hugged each other and shared a laugh. Soon after, the duo shaked a leg on the tunes that were being played at the stadium.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings won the toss and elected bowl first. In Dhawan’s absence, Sam Curran continued to lead the Punjab Kings. The hosts made a couple of changes in their playing XI with Rilee Rossouw coming in place of Jonny Bairstow, and Atharva Taide missing out too. Mumbai Indians are playing with the same team.

As far as Rohit is concerned, the former skipper has been one of the forces to reckon with the bat in the ongoing edition. In six games, Rohit amassed 261 runs, including century that came against Chennai Super Kings in a losing cause. As far as Dhawan is concerned, he has been ruled out for atleast a week with the Punjab Kings medical staff keeping a close tab on the out-of-contention Indian opener.
