Lucknow: The 33rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was played between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI). In this match, Punjab won the toss and decided to bowl first and while batting first, MI had put 192 runs on the board. In this match, Punjab's young batsman Ashutosh Sharma played some such shots which impressed everyone. In this series, former Indian veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has compared him with former great African player AB de Villiers.

Actually, the 13th over of Punjab's innings was going on and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah came to bowl from MI. He bowled a no ball on the 5th ball of this over and after this the next ball Bumrah bowled a yorker but Ashutosh hit it for a six behind the wicket. Looking at this shot of his, Singh said, “Looking at this shot of Sharma, I feel that only AB de Villiers used to play such a shot against Bumrah.” Harbhajan has compared him with De Villiers here.
Irfan Pathan compared with Suryakumar Yadav
While talking during this discussion on Star Sports, former all-rounder Irfan Pathan compared him with Suryakumar Yadav. He said, “The way Ashutosh is batting and the shots he has played, a glimpse of Surya is visible in him.”
The 25-year-old batsman batted brilliantly in this match and almost brought his team close to victory. In this match, facing 28 balls, he played an inning of 61 runs with the help of 2 fours and 7 sixes.
