Glenn Maxwell: The 17th season of the Indian Premier League is passing like a nightmare for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). They have won only 1 match this season and are at the bottom of the points table. Not only this, now the danger of being out of the playoff race is also looming over them.
Amidst this bad phase, RCB's ace player Glenn Maxwell has taken a big decision and has signed an agreement with another team and he will soon join that team. Let us tell you which team Maxwell has decided to join in the middle of IPL.
Glenn Maxwell signed a contract with this team
Australia's explosive all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is currently playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2024. But after the IPL is over, he will take part in the second season of Major League Cricket (MLC) played in America.
Maxwell himself gave this information while talking to ESPNcricinfo. He said, “I am happy to announce that I have signed a deal to play for Washington Freedom in the second season of Major League Cricket. Ricky Ponting is the coach of this team and Steve Smith and Travis Head are also included.
He further said, “I had seen this league last year and was very excited to be a part of it. Luckily this year I am getting a chance to play for Washington Freedom. Along with me, RCB players and New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson will also be with me in that team. Hopefully this tournament will also become very famous in the future.”
Glenn Maxwell is struggling with bad times
Glenn Maxwell is struggling with a bad tour this season of IPL. He has scored only 32 runs in 6 matches played in the tournament. During this period, only one six has come off his bat. Apart from this, he has not been able to show anything special in bowling also. Maxwell has taken only 4 wickets. The effect of his poor performance is visible on the team as well.
RCB has won only 1 out of 7 matches played this season, while they have faced defeat in 6. They are at the bottom 10th position in the points table.
