Liam Livingstone’s fifty dragged RCB to register 169 runs against GT

While RCB was seen as critical at one stage of the game against the Gujarat Titans at their home venue, Liam Livingstone with his 39-ball half century dragged RCB to post a total of 169 runs after losing eight wickets at the end of 20 overs.

RCB lost their top four wickets for 42 runs in 6.2 overs and was in a stage of registering a poor score without their key batters. But Liam Livingstone with his half century dragged RCB to post a decent total.

After Liam’s dismissal in the 19th over, Tim David in the final over, scored 16 runs and boosted RCB’s score.

Speaking of the match, the Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first. Phil Salt and Virat Kohli opened the inning for RCB while Siraj opened the bowling attack.

Arshad Khan made the first breakthrough by dismissing Virat Kohli for seven runs in the fourth ball of the second over. In the very next over, Siraj dismissed Padikkal for four runs and struck again in the fifth over by dismissing Phil Salt for 14 runs.

After losing their top three batters inside the powerplay, RCB managed to score 38 runs after losing three wickets.

Ishant Sharma in the seventh over, dismissed RCB skipper Rajat Patidar for 12 runs and made a massive breakthrough. Though RCB lost their top four batters for cheap, Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone made a steady partnership and dragged RCB to score 91 runs at the end of 14 overs.

In the 13th over, Sai Kishore broke the partnership by dismissing Jitesh Sharma for 33 runs. Livingstone in the 14th over, survived a stumping after Jos Buttler failed to collect the ball cleanly.

Sai Kishore in the 15th over dismissed Krunal Pandya for five runs and loaded pressure over the RCB batting lineup.

At the end of 15 overs, RCB scored 105 runs for six wickets.

In the death overs, Liam Livingstone started to execute an aggressive gameplay and secured his fifty in 39 balls and dragged RCB to score 149 runs for six wickets the end of 18 overs.

While Livingstone was expected to dominate the GT bowlers in the final two overs, Siraj in the second delivery of the 19th over, dismissed Liam for 54 runs and put an end to his aggressive batting.

In the final over from Prasidh Krishna, Tim David scored 16 runs and pushed RCB to post 169 runs at the end of 20 overs.
