Lucknow: The 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In this match, CSK had to face a crushing defeat by 8 wickets and after this, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad got a double blow. In fact, after the defeat in the match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh on Gaikwad. This action has been taken against him because of the slow over rate in the match.
Actually, during Lucknow's innings, Chennai could not complete its 20 overs in the stipulated time and that is why BCCI has imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh on them. Let us tell you that CSK team was trailing by two overs from the scheduled time and due to this they had to keep an extra fielder inside the 30 yard circle before the last two overs. However, the match did not go till the 20th over because Lucknow achieved the target of 177 runs given by CSK by losing 2 wickets in 19 overs.

In this match played between these two teams, slow over rate was seen in both the innings. For this reason, BCCI has also taken action against Lucknow captain KL Rahul and a fine of Rs 12 lakh has been imposed on him. However, his team was trailing by only one over. On the other hand, both these captains have committed such a mistake for the first time, due to which a fine of only Rs 12 lakh has been imposed on them. Rs 24 lakh for committing such a mistake for the second time and a ban of one match if found doing so for the third time.
In this match, the team captained by Rituraj Gaikwad, batting first, scored 176 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scored unbeaten 57 runs in 40 balls while playing a half-century innings. Apart from him, MS Dhoni was also not out after scoring 28 runs on 9 balls. For Lucknow, captain KL Rahul scored 82 runs, while opener Quinton de Kock played an inning of 54 runs and played an important role in helping his team win by 8 wickets.
