In the match played between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings in IPL 2024, the Mumbai team led by Hardik won the match by 9 runs. During this time, due to slow over rate of Mumbai team, captain Hardik Pandya has been fined Rs 12 lakh. If the team bowls at a slow over rate for the second time, a fine of Rs 24 lakh can be imposed on the team captain and Rs 6 lakh on the players in the playing 11 or 25 per cent of the match fee, whichever is less.

Whereas if the mistake is committed for the third time, the team captain can be banned for one match. Meanwhile, before Hardik Pandya, there are Indian captains of other franchises who have been fined due to slow over rate.

These 5 captains are in danger of being banned

Rishabh Pant, who was captaining Delhi Capitals before Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya, and Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer have also been fined. Apart from these, BCCI has also fined Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson and Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill for slow over rate in IPL 2024. In these, Rishabh Pant has been found guilty twice. If Delhi Capitals team is found bowling with a slow over rate once more, then he may have to be banned from one match.
