A slow over rate was recorded in the match played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Friday. Due to this, captains of both the teams, Ruturaj Gaikwad and KL Rahul had to face heavy fines. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh each on the captains of both the teams.
Neither team could complete 20 overs in the stipulated time, hence both the captains have been fined as per the rules of the competition. At the end of the scheduled time, Lucknow had more than one over to bowl. On the other hand, Chennai had three overs left. In this match, CSK captain did not get success with the bat. Batting at number three, he scored 17 runs in 13 balls, while Rahul, however, made an important contribution to the team's victory with the bat. He played an innings of 82 runs in 53 balls with the help of 9 fours and 3 sixes.

In this match played in Lucknow, LSG defeated CSK by 8 wickets. Ruturaj's team, batting first, scored 176 runs for 6 wickets. In reply, for the hosts, the opening pair of Quinton de Kock (54) and captain KL Rahul (82) laid the foundation of the team's victory by making a partnership of 132 runs. After this, Nicholas Pooran played his role in the chase by scoring unbeaten 23*. With this, LSG achieved the target of 177 runs by losing 2 wickets in 19 overs.
