The Haryana government had given three options as a reward in front of Vinesh Phogat, who missed the medal in the Star Wrestler and the Paris Olympics. The options given by Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini to Phogat had a government job or 4 crore Kesh Award or a plot of Haryana Urban Development Authority. According to media reports, Congress MLA Phogat from Julana has taken his decision and has also informed the government.

What did Phogat decide?

Phogat has chosen a cash award of 4 crores. He has told the sports department about this. After Phogat's decision, it will now be ahead. In fact, Vinesh Phogat raised the issue of government's promise in the assembly during the budget session. He had said that the government had declared him equal to the silver medal. It has been eight months, but the honor was not received.

To this, CM Saini replied that Vinesh is now a Congress MLA. Nevertheless, they will be given the option of government job, plot or Rs 4 crore cash. She can choose whatever she wants. The Chief Minister said that under the sports policy of the state government, these three types of benefits are given to the players like a silver medal winner.

Phogat missed on winning the medal

Phogat reached the final of the 50 kg weight category of the Paris Olympics. Just before his match on 7 August 2024, his weight was more than 50 kg more than 100 grams. In the Olympics, the player has to stay in his weight category. If some grams are more than weight, it is disqualified. On August 6, his weight was 49.9 kg when measuring weight for the first time.

He further wrote that you have faced every challenge firmly. We are confident in our daughter that you will keep on illuminating the name of India by crossing all the obstacles. India's pride, our daughter, Vinesh Phogat. The next day he wrote, not only the state but the whole country is proud of Vinesh Phogat. Vinesh Phogat will get all the benefits from the government to the silver medalist.

On 8 August 2024, Phogat announced his retirement from wrestling. On 6 September 2024, she joined the Congress and contested from Julana assembly constituency. He won by more than 6,000 votes.
