India and Pakistan share a famous cricket rivalry that entertain fans whenever the two nations meet on the pitch. However, they now only compete against each other in the ICC tournaments and Asia Cup, with their last Test match occurring in 2007. The countries have not played a bilateral white-ball series since 2013. The supporters want to see bilateral series between two neighbours.

Rohit Sharma said that a Test series between the two teams would be amazing.

“I mean, we play them in ICC tournaments. I am only interested in cricket and nothing else. There’s nothing else that interests me. They have a strong team. It will be an exciting match, particularly if you play in conditions outside of the country, because of their excellent bowling lineup. That will be fantastic,” Rohit Sharma said on The Club Prairie Fire podcast.

Shahid Afridi responded to Rohit’s statement. In his interview with Samaa TV, the former Pakistan all-rounder stated,

“Great reply; the series needs to be scheduled. An encouraging word from the Indian captain. It is also the case that he represents India. As we have always stated, sports, particularly cricket, have had a significant influence on the relationship between Pakistan and India. In the past, we toured India to play cricket. These activities build relationships, and it is the right of neighbours to get along .”

Early in his career, Rohit played against Pakistan in the 2007 T20 World Cup. In the end, he made a crucial thirty off sixteen balls, helping India post a 157/5 total. India won the final by 5 runs.

The Big Clash
