Delhi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a one -year ban on playing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on South African all -rounder Corbin Bosch. The decision was taken when Bosch decided to withdraw the name from PSL and decided to play for Mumbai Indians (Mi) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In the PSL draft held in January, Corbin was selected by Peshawar Zalmi (PZ), but later Mumbai Indians signed him as a replacement after South African fast bowler Lisad Williams was injured.
This year the dates of IPL and PSL are colliding, and the PCB sent a legal notice to them as a violation of the contract when the bosch was removed.
The Pakistan Board said in a statement, “All -rounder has been banned for one year and will not have the right to selection for PSL next year.”
At the same time, 30 -year -old Bosch said, “I regret my decision and, I apologize to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi and the cricket world.”
He further said, “I understand this disappointment completely, but I am committed to learning from this experience and hope to return to PSL with new enthusiasm and fans in future.”
Significantly, this time many high-profile foreign players are participating in the league of Pakistan, including David Warner of Australia, Deril Mitchell of New Zealand, Tim Cifart and Michael Braswell, West Indies Jason Holder and Rasi Van Dus Dusen of South Africa. PSL 2025 starts from Friday.
