Johnson Charles ruled out of PSL 2025; Multan Sultans replace with Ashton Turner

On Saturday, April 12, Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Multan Sultans announced Australia's Ashton Turner as the replacement of injured Johnson Charles.

With the -led side set to take on Karachi Kings in their PSL 2025 opener in the second match of double-header Saturday on April 12, the Multan-based franchise confirmed the Aussie as Charles' replacement.

Turner, a top-order batter, who has scored 240 runs at a strike rate of over 147 for the Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Perth Scorchers in the 2024-25 season, is set to join the side in Rawalpindi by next week.

The franchise took to X (formerly called Twitter) to confirm this update. They also added that Charles is currently undergoing rehabilitation under the supervision of Cricket West Indies medical panel and has been declared unavailable for the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League.

The Multan Sultans will open their PSL 2025 campaign on Saturday, April 12 in Karachi. They will then host the defending champions, Islamabad United on April 16 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, followed by a clash against Peshawar Zalmi, scheduled for April 19.
