The 17th season of the Indian Premier League has once again seen the dominance of the batters. Sunrisers Hyderabad have posted three record totals in IPL 2024. Suryakumar Yadav, Heinrich Klaasen, Dinesh Karthik, Abhishek Sharma, Sunil Narine, and Andre Russell have smashed bowlers.
However, Travis Head has done the most damage since making his debut for the Orange Army. He has struck 1 hundred and two fifties. In 6 matches, the Aussie batter has scored 324 runs at an average of 54 and a strike rate of 216. He hasn’t let the bowlers to settle down in any game.
Former India player Harbhajan Singh called him a headache for the bowlers. “I haven’t seen any batter smashing the bowlers like that. There is not even a single bowler who has contain him in the 17th season. He has become a headache for all the bowlers in the tournament. Head is playing with the mind and confidence of the rivals,” Harbhajan Singh said.
In the match with Delhi Capitals, he scored a magnificent 89 runs off 32 balls, including 11 fours and 6 sixes. He added 131 runs with Abhishek Sharma (46) for the opening wicket. The visitors posted 267/7 in 20 overs, the third highest total in the history of the cash-rich league.
