Suresh Raina: Chennai Super Kings, one of the most successful teams in the history of the Indian Premier League, is known for supporting its players. Once CSK buys a player, they do not release them easily. But the cricket world was stunned when Chennai allowed Suresh Raina to go unsold in the mega auction of IPL 2022.
Now Suresh (Suresh Raina) has broken his silence on this matter and has told what were his feelings on being unsold. He also revealed why he left CSK in IPL 2020 and returned back home.
Suresh Raina made big revelations
IPL 2020 was played in the United Arab Emirates due to Covid restrictions. Before the start of this tournament, a big controversy had come to light from the camp of Chennai Super Kings. It was said that batsman Suresh Raina wanted a luxurious room in the hotel like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, but his demand was not fulfilled. This was the reason why Raina returned to India without playing a single match.
However, now in an interview given to Lallantop, Suresh Raina revealed that his close relative was murdered in Punjab, after which he had to return home. Here he termed the news about the luxurious room as a rumour.
What did Suresh Raina say?
Suresh Raina said during the interview that the news of him demanding a bigger room was fake. He told that one of his family members had passed away in Punjab, that is why he had to withdraw from IPL 2020. Apart from this, when Suresh Raina was asked that he had retired from international cricket along with Mahendra Singh Dhoni, but CSK did not retain him after IPL 2021, is he sad about this? On this Raina said, “It is good that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is playing. They should play. Why would I be sad about that?”
