Mumbai Indians are one of the favourites to qualify for the playoffs in the Indian Premier League 2025. They are in third place, having won 7 matches so far. With 14 points, the five-time champions need to win two out of their remaining three contests to play in the second round. After a slow start to their campaign, the top stars are back in form. Jasprit Bumrah made a return after 4 matches, while Rohit Sharma has hit form at the business end of the tournament.
Suryakumar Yadav is giving match-winning contributions, while Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, Hardik Pandya, and Karn Sharma are picking up wickets in every match.
Former India player Navjot Singh Sidhu heaped massive praise on Rohit. “Mumbai Indians have improved after every game. The best thing for MI has been Rohit’s recent form, with the batter scoring three half-centuries.
“He often does it in international cricket, but to see it happening in IPL is pleasing to the eye. He snatches matches from the rivals. Tilak Varma and SKY are scoring runs, but Rohit’s form has made all the difference,” he said.
Sidhu highlighted the reason behind Rohit’s success after failures in the first few games. “He gave time after the failures. Rohit has all the strokes to dominate. When you play according to your strengths, the whole world falls at your feet. Rohit is now concentrating on singles and doubles. His form has solved everything. Bumrah and Hardik are also looking better,” he added.
