Delhi: An old interview of veteran batsman of the Indian cricket team Virat Kohli is becoming very viral on social media these days, in which he is talking about changes in Indian cricket and the need to prepare the youth for him. This viral clip has come to light at a time when it is being claimed in several media reports before the England tour that Kohli has told his desire to retire from Test cricket to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
According to the report of India Today, sources have said that a senior BCCI officer has spoken to Virat and asked him to withdraw his decision. However, Kohli seems to be adamant on his decision and does not look excited to continue Test cricket. Meanwhile, Kohli’s old interview given to Sports in 2021 is going viral, in which he is sharing his thinking about change in Indian cricket.
Kohli said in the interview, “I connect with these youths so that they do not waste the month and year that I did as a young player, when I got success formula and understood how to compete at this level, I want these people to learn it early so that the transition in Indian cricket is very smooth. So I want that when we are close to being out, these players should be prepared in advance and stay on Indian cricket top. ”
Apart from this, Kohli also talked about the challenges of Test cricket and told that every day there is a new challenge.
He further said, “Test cricket is difficult. Even though you are in the best Test team in the world, but still you can sometimes reach in a situation where you don’t want to go. Sometimes it seems, ‘5 days, do I want to do it again?’ So you have to be completely honest.
Virat Kohli has scored 9230 runs in 123 Tests so far and has an average of 46.85. He has scored 30 centuries and 31 half -centuries. He is just 770 runs away from completing 10000 runs in the Test. If he achieves this feat, he will become the 16th player to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket. However, it remains to be seen whether they reach this point or stop a career like Rohit Sharma.
