India 'A' Tour Of England: Ahead of India's five-match Test series against England starting June 20, the BCCI is set to send a 14-member India 'A' squad to England, featuring players who are no longer part of the IPL 2025 playoffs.

According to The Indian Express, the squad includes young talents Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan, both of whom will get valuable red-ball exposure on English soil.

With the IPL 2025 final now rescheduled to June 3 following a pause in the tournament due to recent cross-border tensions and the Pahalgam terror incident, the India 'A' tour is set to begin on May 30 - five days after the playoffs commence.

Since both Jaiswal's Rajasthan Royals and Kishan's Sunrisers Hyderabad have been knocked out of the tournament, they are available for selection.

The India 'A' squad also includes familiar names such as Karun Nair, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Dhruv Jurel, Shardul Thakur, and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Bowlers Tanush Kotian, Akash Deep, Khaleel Ahmed, Manav Suthar, and Anshul Kamboj round out the side.

Notably, Kamboj and Khaleel are reportedly being looked at as "hold-up bowlers" in the mould of Ishant Sharma - dependable seamers who can rotate in to ease the burden on India's premier pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami.

Prasidh Krishna and Harshit Rana are being earmarked for inclusion in the senior Test squad, according to the report.

In the spin department, the left-arm orthodox Manav Suthar is believed to be under long-term consideration as a spin-bowling all-rounder, offering balance in the playing XI.

Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Khan is expected to skip the 'A' tour and join the main Test squad instead, following his omission from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year. Rajat Patidar, however, misses out due to a finger injury.

Following the initial 'A' team fixture, more players will fly in to bolster preparations. Shubman Gill - who is tipped to take over Test captaincy soon - along with Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar, is expected to join the contingent. An intra-squad practice game, closed to the public and media, is also scheduled ahead of the first Test at Lord's.

This England tour offers a critical platform for India's bench strength to acclimatize to English conditions and stake their claim for future opportunities in the longest format.
