Neeraj Chopra Backets Lieutenant Colonel in Territorial Army News in Hindi: India’s most successful athlete Neeraj Chopra has got a big responsibility in the Indian Army. Two -time Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra has been given the title of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army. The notification issued by the Ministry of Defense states that President Draupadi Murmu has decided to honor Neeraj Chopra with this post. Neeraj Chopra has been included under the Para-31 of India’s Territorial Army Regulation, 1948. Neeraj is already posted as Subedar Major in the Indian Army.

The Ministry of Defense announced this on Wednesday 14 May through a notification. The President announced this in this notification on 9 May. According to this notification of the Ministry of Defense, the President has given Neeraj Chopra the post of honorary Lieutenant Colonel to Neeraj Chopra using his powers under the Territorial Army Regulations. This status of Neeraj will be effective from 16 April 2025.

Neeraj Chopra is one of the best players in the world in spear throw. Neeraj has won the gold medal in the Jewelin throw for India in the Tokyo Olympics 2021. Now he has been given the post of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army.
